Tattersall Distilling
About
Versiris Energy (previously operating as New Energy Equity) is proud to have supplied solar power to such a highly anticipated, award-winning craft distillery, like Tattersall Distilling. This 75k square foot facility, located in River Falls, Wisconsin, houses Tattersall’s first-ever restaurant, featuring indoor and outdoor event spaces and was designed to be one of the most sustainable distilleries in the nation.
The facility’s 405 kW rooftop solar array is the largest solar array of any craft distillery in the nation. Consisting of 1,080 panels and producing a yearly average of 477,900 kWh of electricity, the solar array is projected to offset the energy production of Tattersall’s entire distilling operation. This amounts to offsetting 373 tons of carbon dioxide — the same amount sequestered by 415 acres of forest.
Sustainability is a core value of Tattersall’s, aligning with Renewable River Falls, the city campaign that encourages and supports residents and businesses in going 100% renewable. A water reclamation system recycles all production water, repurposing it into future distillations. Surplus spent grain is given to a local cattle and bison farmer, who feeds it to livestock that ends up on Tattersall’s menu. Greens for the restaurant and herbs for cocktails are all grown hydroponically at the distillery as well.
As a part of our partnership with American Forests, Versiris Energy will assist in the planting of 405 trees, one for each kW of solar included in this project.
