The Kihei Charter School solar project, completed in March 2020, features a 356.545 kW DC / 280 kW AC system utilizing 1,169 Hanwha solar panels and SMA inverters. It employs three types of racking: ballasted rooftop, trellis, and carport. The system is interconnected behind the meter within the school’s switchgear, with excess power fed into the Maui Electric grid.
